As the junction
for the Kangra and Kullu Valleys, Mandi is well served by local
public buses. The bus station - where you can make advanced bookings
- is across the river in the eastern part of the town. There are
buses every hour to Shimla via Bilaspur; approx. every
hour up the Kullu Valley road to Pandoh, Bhuntar (for the airport
and Manikaran), Kullu and Manali;and along the Kangra Valley road,to
Dharamsala and any place on the way, such as Jogindernagar, at least
10 times a day.
Taxis
congregate outside the bus station, and at a stand on the eastern
side of the Indira Market Square. A one-way trip by taxi from Mandi
to Kullu costs Rs 550.
The nearest airport is Bhuntar which is about 57 km from Mandi on
Mandi-Kullu Highway.
The
nearest rail head is Jogindernagar which is 55 km from Mandi.
Local Transport :
Since Mandi is a small town , only common local transport facilities
like auto-rickshaws etc are available.
