Best Season :The summers are marked by rainfalls. The nights of summers are cool and light warm cloths are required during this time. Winter are cold and chilly winds from the upper Himalayas makes the place really cold. Around Christmas or last week of December Shimla gets snow. this is the best time to visit as you can enjoy the snow.The snowfall during this time attracts many tourists and accomodation can prove to be difficult.
Shopping :The best shopping area in Shimla are The Mall, Lower Bazar and Lakkar Bazaar.There is an enormous range of goods that Shimla has to offer.This includes handicrafts, wood,and metalwork, shawls,pulovers, local tweeds,Wooden articles and Toys, caps, Tibetan carpets and pickles, jams and squashes.

      Shimla is probably the closest thing in India to Aspen. It was used as a summer capital by the British, and for a short period was the capital of a combined Punjab. It has India's only natural ice-skating rink and is a prime center for skiing.
      In summer, Shimla has the attraction of excellent walks and treks against the backdrop of the scenic beauty of wooded ravines, flowers and pines.
      In winters, it is home to winter-sports and an ice-skating carnival. Like other hill-stations, such as Darjeeling and Ooty, there is an exciting ride up the hills on a toy-train to get there.       Today, Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and a favourite for filmmakers who wish to incorporate its scenic romanticism in their movies. Shimla is a stark example of the diversity that India offers to tourists.
      Shimla has been blessed with all the natural bounties which one can think of. It has got a scenic location, it is surrounded by green hills with snow capped peaks. The spectacular cool hills accompanied by the structures made during the colonial era creates an aura which is very different from other hill.
