Kodaikanal,
the best of three hill stations in Tamil Nadu is a must for holiday
goers because of the beauty in the place.
It is perfect
if you have to do nothing but stroll around and laze around, or
go boating and have long hours of relaxation. Long strolls and the
evening sunset are a great retreat for choked lungs that have stayed
busy all the while before their holiday.
The thick lush
greenary that surrounds the place completely adds to the beauty.
The pleasant climate makes the place accessible all round the year
and reasonable rates as well as the multi-cuisine food available
does lure tourists.
One must but
not miss Kodai - the heaven for picnickers.
The climate in Kodai is always
pleasant and the temperature rarely drops to a point where you might
need woollen clothing.
Kodaikanal,
the most beautiful hill station in Tamil Nadu(in South India) and
one of the very best in India is perched on the southern crest of
the Palani Hills, about 120 km north-west of Madurai. The place
is completely surrounded by thickly wooded slopes, waterfalls and
precipitous rocky outcrops, and they cover a major portion of the
area.
When it comes
to beauty, Kodai leaves behind Udhagamandalam (Ootacamund) as well
as Yercud, which are other hill stations in Tamil Nadu. It is one
of those places that are a good rereat to the tired lungs and offer
scope for hiking too.
Kodaikanal
has its own landscaped, artificial lake with boating facilities
that are reasonable.
Of late, Kodai has
also become an attraction among tourists major attraction for tourist
from all over India. Kodai is dotted with numerous walking area
all of which invite visitors to take a good morning stroll.
The waterfalls from
the hills add to the attraction of the place. There is also a lake
where you can spend the evening watching the sun go beyond the hills.
Some of the views
to the south are spectacular, and the viewpoints are within easy
walking distance from the centre of town.
The climate
in the city is very pleasant throughout the year and hence open
to visitors all year round. The temperature rarely drops to a point
where one has to use specific winter clothing.
